Lessons from Success by Ariho Kamara (Part 3)

AkWe have all been told to dream big, become dreamers and to never top dreaming because Dreams can come true! –

I would like to challenge you my fellow dreamer with a question. What pillow do you dream on?

In the late 80’s there was a popular song whose lyrics in part went something like;
Send me the pillow that you dream on.
Don’t you know that I still care for you?
Send me the pillow that you dream on.
So darling I can dream on it too.

The stories of great men do not get bigger than Samson, David and Solomon. These were men who had big dreams and accomplished many things. However, like many men we see that they were at their weakest when they begun to dream on pillows that weren’t their own.
(Many people are surprised when I tell them that after 3 dates I asked my wife for an Exclusive relationship- leading to marriage. Sounds like madness right? – That’s a story for another day.)

Take Samson for example, a man that repelled armies single handedly. It was during his sleep on a pillow called Delilah that his dream turned into a nightmare! A mighty man lost his strength and It did not take long for him to lose his “Vision” and we all know how the “cookie crumbled”.

I have met men and even women who think its OK to have more than one “dream-mate”. If your value system allows you to live that way- so be it. My personal convictions are that one should have only one “dream-mate”. Imagine if you planted a seed and kept digging it up and transplanting it into different fields. Would you expect a strong well-rooted plant? I doubt it. I think this is what happens when a man/woman isn’t dreaming on one pillow. Soon they become shallow rooted and at the slightest winds of change they will not withstand the pressure.

The correlation between fidelity and success cannot be proven and is difficult to understand. As one preacher said, God in His wisdom made a BLACK COW with a diet of GREEN GRASS to produce WHITE MILK, which makes YELLOW BUTTER. Someone might have an explanation but in my opinion (which is the only one that I have) – They are related.

Here is the Lesson.
My brothers, I know what we go through, and the challenges that we face everyday. To the ladies, don’t let strangers hatch their ideas on your pillow.
Mind the pillow that you dream on- Selah!

(I would like to appreciate my wife for accepting to be the ONLY pillow on which I dream and boy hasn’t she birthed some dreams and pretty girls too.)
